FAQ

What should I do first in Slayers 2?
Customize your character, roll your clan, then buy the 500-cash Regular Katana from the beginner village shop. Do not save for the 1,500-cash Fancy Katana — start earning weapon mastery immediately with the cheaper blade.
What level do you unlock Breathing in Slayers 2?
You can start working toward your first Breathing Style at level 25 by speaking to a Breathing trainer and completing their quest chain.
How do you become a Demon in Slayers 2?
Find Muzan at night in Mispo Harbor, Snow Village, or Hidden Mist. You need 40 reputation before he gives you the Biwa Bell, which teleports you to his domain.
Does your clan matter in Slayers 2?
Yes. Clans grant unique skills and passives that affect damage, survivability, mobility and even EXP or drop rates, and they are rolled rather than chosen, so rerolling is a core progression decision.

Slayers 2 gives you almost no tutorial, so the opening hours are where most new players stall. The critical path is short: buy a cheap katana, ignore the Fancy Katana trap, then follow the quest chain through four leveling brackets until you reach level 25 and unlock your first Breathing Style. This guide covers that route in order, plus the systems — clans, skill tree, titles, lanterns, fast travel — that quietly make everything faster.

How do you level up fast from 1 to 75?

Follow the quest chain in four brackets and set your spawn point in each new area before you start grinding. The single biggest time sink in early Slayers 2 is travel, not combat — a fast, repeatable rotation on enemies you can kill quickly beats fighting something that takes you two minutes per kill.

Bracket Where What to farm Notes
1–15 Beginner village Kru’s three Bandit quests, then Zuko Zuko can be fought from roughly level 7
15–30 Bear area Level 10 Bear → Level 18 Mother Bear Activate the nearby spawn point first
30–45 Next quest hub Level 34 boss + surrounding enemies May require speaking to an NPC back in the beginner town to unlock the quests
45–75 Huzu’s area Local bosses, world event bosses Rotate between bosses instead of waiting on one

Two habits make this noticeably faster. First, set your spawn near the quest area every time you move — you will repeat these fights dozens of times. Second, rotate between available bosses rather than camping one; world event bosses that spawn around the map are free additional rewards.

Early-game milestone checklist

These are the checkpoints worth hitting in order. Percentages are completion of the early-game critical path, not drop rates.

Why is Zuko worth farming beyond the XP?

Zuko is the early mini-boss and the first genuinely useful farm in the game, because he drops the Cutlass — a boss weapon with its own skill set rather than a stat-stick. Its Quick Draw ability is strong for combos and clearing packs.

Zuko farming notes

When you can fight him: from roughly level 7, which is why the 1–15 bracket overlaps with the Bandit quests.

Why boss weapons matter: boss drops carry unique skills that ordinary shop weapons never get, so an early Cutlass keeps paying off well past the level you earned it.

How do clans work in Slayers 2?

After character customization you roll for a clan. There are six rarities — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythic and Supreme — and clans grant unique skills, passive effects and stat bonuses. Some clans have active abilities such as Poison Throw; others summon additional characters or boost EXP and drop rates.

Because clans are rolled rather than picked, rerolling is a real progression decision rather than a cosmetic one. Spend rerolls deliberately, and check what each clan actually provides before you discard it.

What should you know about weapons early?

The beginner village shop sells two katanas: a Regular Katana for 500 cash and a Fancy Katana for 1,500 cash. Buy the cheap one.

A katana works whether you eventually go Slayer or Demon, and you will replace your starter weapon through normal progression anyway. What you cannot get back is the mastery you did not earn while saving up.

How do you unlock your first Breathing Style?

Reach level 25, find a Breathing trainer, and complete the quest chain they give you. Finishing it unlocks your first Breathing Style — then use the Skill Tree to unlock that style’s individual abilities.

This makes level 25 the first real milestone of the game. If you plan to follow the Slayer route, treat it as your target rather than a vague long-term goal.

How do you become a Demon instead?

Find Muzan at night. He can appear in three towns: Mispo Harbor, Snow Village and Hidden Mist. You need 40 reputation before he will give you the Biwa Bell; using the bell teleports you to his domain, where speaking to him again starts the quest that eventually rewards Muzan Blood.

What is the Skill Tree and why check it constantly?

Press M to open the Skill Tree. It holds your Breathing Style skills, Blood Demon Art skills, weapon skills, fighting style skills, clan skills and general character upgrades, separated across tabs at the top.

The habit worth building: every time you gain a new fighting style, weapon, Breathing Style or clan ability, open the Skill Tree and unlock what it added. Clan abilities in particular are unlocked from here rather than granted automatically.

Do titles actually do anything?

Yes. Open the menu with M and go to Titles. Titles grant bonuses, and some affect quest experience — Village Pillar, for example, gives a Quest EXP Factor bonus, which directly speeds up leveling.

Match the title to what you are doing: an EXP title while questing, a combat or drop title while farming bosses.

How do you get around the map faster?

Fast travel unlocks via shrines scattered across the world. Open your mini-map, then buy access to a shrine with in-game cash to make it a travel destination. Locations unlockable this way include Hidden Mist, Misfall, Butterfly Estate and the Snow area — grabbing them early saves a large amount of travel time across the whole playthrough.

Horse mounts are the other option. Horses appear randomly around the world, and the game may notify you when one is available. Interacting with one starts a short taming mini-game and costs 15,000 cash. Once tamed, equip it from your inventory; Shift makes it run and a second Shift makes it gallop.

Why do you need a lantern, and how do you survive the Snow area?

Nighttime makes the world genuinely hard to navigate, and the Snow biome adds a cold mechanic that damages you the longer you stay. The Ember Heart Lantern provides Cold Immunity, which is what makes extended Snow-area farming possible.

That immunity is not permanent — it depletes and needs restoring. Campfires are the fix: stand in a campfire’s radius until your Cold Immunity refills. Until you have better gear, lantern plus campfire is the standard Snow-area routine.

Where to get the Ember Heart Lantern

Farm the Yeti in a secret cave near the beginner village — head toward the northeast side of the village and keep going until you find the cave.

The Yeti is tied to an Ice Chest and is summoned using a Frozen Heart.

Frozen Hearts come from sources including Rare Chests and Sealed Luck Chests. Luck Chests appear around the map in Tier 1 and Tier 2 versions, and some are guarded by NPCs you must defeat before opening them.

Starting out: Kuro, near the Mother Bear area, sells one of the earliest beginner lanterns. It is dim, but it beats travelling blind.

What else is easy to miss as a new player?

Check the Archives for drop sources

Slayers 2 has several chest types — World Event Chests from World Adventures, boss chests, and Luck Chests among them. The Archives lists each item’s drop source and chance, which is far faster than guessing where a specific lantern or equipment piece comes from.

The Black Market NPC is worth watching for

The Black Market NPC appears periodically and sells items including Frozen Hearts and special equipment. If you get a notification that he has arrived, it is usually worth checking what he is carrying before the window closes.

Fishing needs a quest first

Go to Mispo Harbor and head to the docks, then speak to Soften. You will be sent to find a permit stamp in a nearby house across the river; return it to Soften to receive your Fishing Permit, after which you can buy bait and a rod.

Frequently asked questions

What level should I be before fighting world bosses?

Around level 75 is the common recommendation for starting the harder world boss content. Before that, stick to the bracket you are in and keep the rotation tight.

Should I reroll my clan, or keep what I got?

Open the clan’s full information panel first. Low-rarity clans can carry genuinely useful passives, and if you are still leveling, an EXP or drop-rate passive is often worth more than a damage bonus you cannot use yet.

Is the Fancy Katana ever worth buying?

Not as a first purchase. The Regular Katana at 500 cash is enough to start, and you will replace both through normal progression. Starting mastery earlier is worth more than the upgrade.

Where to go next

Once you have your first Breathing Style unlocked, the natural next steps are the full code list for free Spins and Wen to fund clan rerolls, and the breathing style tier list once you are deciding which style is actually worth the trainer cost.
